Silver linings of the COVID-19 pandemic from an infection prevention and control perspective

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolved, infection prevention and control shifted approaches to personal protective equipment and environmental controls with significant investments in infrastructure, staffing, and education. We present local data demonstrating reduction in hospital acquired infection, recognizing that our hospitals’ acuity and volumes reduced due to pandemic preparation.
