Congratulations to PhD student Jalees Nasir, who has been awarded the prestigious 2021 Fred & Helen Knight Enrichment Award, which recognizes exceptional promise in early career graduate students. Jalees joined in the lab in 2018, passed his PhD Candidacy in 2020, and works on design of bait capture platforms for viral surveillance. He has also been a key part of the Canadian response to SARS-CoV-2, designing the widely used SARS-CoV-2 Illumina GeNome Assembly Line (SIGNAL) for genomic surveillance of COVID-19 variants. Congratulations Jalees!
