Curation volunteer Kriti Goel (3rd year Biochemistry) will be joining us as a 2023 Summer Student to sketch out how the Comprehensive Antibiotic Resistance Database can expand to include the increasingly important failure of antibiotics against fungal pathogens. She will be joined by fellow volunteer Tiffany Ta (4th year BDC), who has been awarded a David Braley Centre for Antibiotic Discovery Summer Scholarship to work on natural language processing to contextualize antimicrobial resistance gene surveillance. They both will be joined by new lab member Spring Wang (5th year BioPharm) as our Summer 2023 Junior Curator Co-Op student. Lastly, we also welcome (virtually) Jocelyn Zambrano-Alvarado of the University of Manitoba Visual and Automated Disease Analytics (VADA) graduate training program for a 8-week internship on data visualization.
