This September we welcome new graduate students Tiffany Ta and Suhayb Hafiz. Tiffany joins us from the McMaster Biomedical Discovery & Commercialization program and will be following up on her thesis research with us on use of natural language processing algorithms to mine the literature for antimicrobial resistance gene : antibiotic relationships. Suhayb has both medical training and a degree in Life Science from McMaster University, plus industry experience in data science. He will be researching antimicrobial resistance in fungi in collaboration with the laboratory of Dr. Cameron Currie. Welcome!
