Two alumni of the McMaster Biochemistry graduate program have joined the McArthur Lab!
Dr. Emily Bordeleau got her PhD from McMaster in 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Gerry Wright, followed by postdoctoral positions at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Bordeleau has joined us as via a joint position between our lab and the laboratory of Dr. William Hsiao at Simon Fraser University. She will be co-leading advanced ontological efforts focussed on development of the next major iteration of our Antibiotic Resistance Ontology (ARO) and the developing Mobilome Ontology (MOBIO – in further collaboration with Dr. Nicole Ricker of the University of Guelph). Dr. Kara Tsang got her PhD from McMaster in 2021 in our lab, followed postdoctoral research at the London School of Tropical Health & Medicine with Dr. Kat Holt. Dr. Tsang will be continuing leadership of her projects with LSTHM, but now via a postdoctoral position at McMaster. She will be co-leading Kara major projects for the KlebNET-GSP, ESGEM-AMR, and AMR Rules projects. View Dr. Tsang’s publication record here.
